REALLY? SERIOUSLY?

I have been preparing myself for the possibility that, while Sarah Palin may be inexperienced, she may still be a formidable candidate and a quick study.

Um.

Uh.

Watch CBS Videos Online

By the way, there's more. I'm being kind limiting it to this single excerpt.

Well, okay. One more.

I'm sorry, but this is UNBELIEVABLE. She is lost. These questions come at her and she is twisting in the wind. She said when the call came from John McCain, she didn't blink. She should have blinked. She should still have her eyes closed, the blink should have been so pronounced.

It seems quite clear that on the subject of the Palin selection McCain was beyond irresponsible. This is ridiculous, that she could be our president in a matter of months. I will not apologize for how pissed this makes me. It's an outrage.

She might cause me to lose sleep at night...and not in the good way.I actually think she already does. This is not good.

I guess I hit some web-based spider with this one. I have gotten a slew of pro-Palin comments that will never see daylight here, because a) they're obscene, b) they don't address the content of the post, and c) they're obscene. Praise Jesus.

Take your drive-by comments and shove 'em. This will not become your little blog ghetto. You don't crap in here and run away. Say something worth talking about, or get lost.

AUGH! Why are so many people in love with the idea of her in leadership? I don't get it. I've heard comments from people WANTING her and McCain to switch places -- with her as pres. A friend was joking about my cynicism yesterday.. but seriously, are the American people that stupid??

Unlike yourself, Reacher, I've never taken debate. As a result, sometimes I find myself not as quick on my feet in a discussion as I would like to be. That said, whether or not someone is quick on their feet mentally doesn't mean they will make good decisions after careful study of an issue. Apples & oranges.

Sarah Palin is in the camp of the enemy when she's talking to anyone at CBS/NBC/ABC, and most especially Katie. And I agree, she doesn't look good in the video.

Speaking of not looking good, here are a couple of links that show Joe "I'm an unbelievable idiot. Can you believe Barack chose me out of everyone else in the country to be the #2 dude?" Biden in his usual form:

And here's a video (w/some editorial captions I wish were not included) showing Barack in his "speaking w/o a teleprompter" mode:

Okay, one more (can't resist):

I realize this is your blog and you don't have to post this, nor do you have to pretend to be remotely impartial. I do think, however, a little balance is more in character w/who you are and what this blog was created to be.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but you did ask for attribution, didn't you?

Um.

Uh.

Inhilator? 57 states? Did I miss something?

Sometimes when I watch a show like "The Office" one of the characters does something so humiliating and awkward that I actually squirm in my seat and have to shut my eyes to block it out. I know I'm supposed to find it funny, and I do when I think back on it, but at the moment I'm just too disturbed by it.

That's how I felt watching those clips of Sarah Palin (without the finding it funny part).

It's not just that she didn't seem to know her position clearly, or that she couldn't articulate it, but that she didn't even answer the question that was asked of her (in the second clip). It was just a deflection and a retreat into the talking points that she knew more about.

I know that there must be enormous pressure on her in these interviews; thinking that everyone is going to try to trip her up or ask her something that she's not prepared for, but let's face it: the job she wants is full of pressure. Especially if she were to end up as the President.

Joe Biden had quite an "Office" moment, too, when he asked state senator Chuck Graham to stand up and be recognized at a rally only to find that Mr. Graham is confined to a wheelchair. But that was just a dumb mistake. And I could see myself laughing at that one.

I don't hate Sarah Palin. I know people just like her and I'm sure I'm related to people who really like her and think she would be great for the country. I would never say a bad word about her, except that she wants to be our Vice-President (perhaps President) and I have higher standards for those running for office.
